My
Favourite Story
My
group and I have read some stories of the book “Bookworms
club: Stories for Reading Circles” in
the last few days. My favourite story is “Dora's
Turn”.
Why do I like this story? I'm going to tell you.
The story is about a war where a boy has to kill
his friend because his commander told him to. I particulary like the end of the
text.
The
story is about a b12 year old boy and a girl of who are in a war. The
commander, Mad Tiger, orders the boy to kill her friend Dora because she tried to escape. The boy doesn't want to kill her but his commander
orders her death. He couldn't obey this order. When he was going to kill
Dora, they heard something behind them. Other soldiers of the opposite
army were attacking the commander so he and Dora could escape.
My
favourite character is the soldier Acayo, the boy, because he doesn't
obey his superior. He follows his feelings,
that they were correct.
This
is my favourite passage, I copy it: “Acayo,” Dora says, “stop
this talk. You know we–” At that moment comes the sound of
heavy guns behind us, where Mad Tiger and the others are.
“What...?” whispers Dora. Suddenly I understand. Those are
government army guns, not our guns. A helicopter gunship has found
Mad Tiger's group. “This is our chance!” I drop my gun and take
hold of Dora's hand. “Run!”
Finally
I want to recommend this book because their small stories were easy to understand and some of them were interesting and exciting. I could follow their arguments very
well.
Nutrition Project
My
class and I have made a project about nutrition in different
countries and we had to cook some foreigner food. We looked like
Karlos Arguiñano. This is all the project:
First, we spoke about
healthy eating habits with a video which explain the different eating
pyramids and we looked for information in a web page the first two
weeks.
We made groups and each classmate did a research about one
country and its diet. Then we decided what was the most healthy
country in each team, we chose one to work on and searched one
recipe.
We shared out the work in my group. I did the menu for a
restaurant because we had to open an “international restaurant”
and we learned how to be waiters in our establishment.
Some days later, all the groups had to present their countries. One
explain to the class with a ppt in which there were included the fact
file and the recipe and the others groups marked their work.
Later
the groups showed a cooking videos. For to make the videos, we had to
meet in one house for cooked our recipe. While my group and I were
making the “Lamingtons” we laughed a lot because some
ingredients fell down for some little mistakes of one classmate.
I
like this experience because it was really funny were “Arguiñanos”
and when we finished to watch the video, we ate all the foreigner
recipes, it was fantastic!
I'm sorry because I can't find the video
but I will try to get it in this week...
Making Scary Movies
My class and I have been making scary movies. My group and I wrote the script and then we made the movie. We had some problems and we finished the film. This is "Behind the cameras"
We started making movies three weeks ago. First we wrote the script in class. After that we started making the movie. After our teacher had supervised the script.
When we were making the movie, we had some problems. One of this problems was that we were always laughing. Even when I was shooting, I was laughting a lot. An other problem was some people in the group coudn't meet.
Finally, we finished filming! The class watched it. This is the video... What do you think?

MY
SELF-PORTRAIT
I am Oscar and I'm
fourteen years old. This is part of my personality.
I think that I'm a shy
person with people who I don't know. I'm usually relaxed and quiet.
In my picture the colours are red and yellow because red is exciting
and yellow is relaxed.
There's a photo of me in
the centre of the picture. In the photo I'm taking my fencing's mask.
Fencing is my favourite sport because it is really fast and exciting.
There are other things
in my picture. You can see that I'm interested in music, sports and I
like people who is friendly and funny.
Spanish Christmas food
My class and I are doing a
Christmas project this week. My group is working on typical Spanish
Christmas food.
Families
prepare food to eat with their families at Christmas. It is typically
big
dinners
for Christmas day and New Years' eve in Spain. My family and I
usually eat chicken with mushrooms, seafoods, cold
meats...
We also cut cheese.
The desserts are usually
typical in Spain. We eat them after the lunch and the dinner. They
are cookies', cakes, and sometimes fruit...
My favourite food is the
gingers' cookies. In my opinion they are a bit spicy but they are
really, really good.
Well... because my
favourite Christmas' food is the gingers' cookies, I recorded a
video for you. It is “How to make these cookies”.
Please will you comment if
you like the video and you make the cookies.
